Ruth Mueller Taylor
.As an American Impressionist, the artist paints a variety of subjects, concentrating primarily on landscape with figures.  Ruth’s ‘Beachscapes’ coax the viewer to come nearer and smell the salt air, while taking us down memory lane to recall our childhood, fun with our children or grandchildren.

Ruth's medium of choice is oil which she applies with palette knives to achieve her desired effect in a painting.  She also enjoys working with soft pastels.

Taylor began pursuing her art career with studies at the Kansas City Art Institute and private lessons in Missouri.  She now takes classes at the von Liebig Art Center, pursuing her interest in adding figures to her landscapes, as well as continuing a self study regimen.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I want to bring to you, the viewer, serenity and pleasure in a world full of chaos.  No controversy, anxiety or unpleasantness, only tranquility.

As you view my work, whether it be landscape, figurative or a combination thereof, you will find a place of solace in the painting.

Look for it in the wave just before it breaks, the distant hills, a cool forest, streams babbling over stone or sandy bottoms, children happily playing on the beach or people just enjoying each other’s company.

Let yourself be seduced by the restfulness, transported to another time and a calm place filled with beauty and happiness.
