.As an American Impressionist, the artist paints a variety of subjects, concentrating primarily on landscape with figures. Ruth’s ‘Beachscapes’ coax the viewer to come nearer and smell the salt air, while taking us down memory lane to recall our childhood, fun with our children or grandchildren.
Ruth's medium of choice is oil which she applies with palette knives to achieve her desired effect in a painting. She also enjoys working with soft pastels.
Taylor began pursuing her art career with studies at the Kansas City Art Institute and private lessons in Missouri. She now takes classes at the von Liebig Art Center, pursuing her interest in adding figures to her landscapes, as well as continuing a self study regimen.
Ruth specializes in commissioned pieces.
The award winning artists paintings and prints have been purchased by private collectors worldwide and are also in museum, private and corporate collections in the United States, which include The Art Center for the Grand Prairie, Stuttgart, Arkansas, Harlin Museum of West Plains, Missouri, MFA Corporation, Columbia, Missouri, Florida Power Corporation, New Port Richey, Florida, State Street Financial Advisors and the Hardee Corporation among others. Her paintings have appeared on the Front Cover of “The Adverse Witness”, the Collier County Bar Assn. publication, and a solo exhibit at Barnes & Noble. They were also included in several exhibits sponsored by the United Arts Council of Collier County.
She is represented by the Timmel Collection in Saugatuck, MI, Local Color, Ft Myers Beach. FL and Kennedy Gallery, Miami Beach, FL. Ruth also exhibits and sells her artwork at juried juried fine exhibitions and outdoor art art festivals.
